Roundeners Vs Flatteners

Thomas L. Friedman's seminal work on globalization had its first act set in the Indian IT industry. Is the recent fall from grace of few corporate giants just a symbol of the world becoming round again? Do you feel that the world is flat and that the flatteners will continue pinning the edges of this poster-flat world in spite of the opposing forces like world-wide recession and a dwindling faith in the benefits of globalization?
